About

Lee_DSC8508NotSerious.jpg
It was in journalism school during an electrifying era when Lee Thomas picked up the camera. Since he felt the most awarded photojournalism covered war, riots and famine…areas he always tried to avoid, he instead chose the discipline of commercial photography. And even though he shoots commercially, he still employs a photojournalistic approach in much of his work. On editorial assignments, it goes without saying.

Clients include the professions of health care, law, energy, higher education, financial institutions, manufacturing, research & technology, culinary arts and the finest Thoroughbred horse farms in the world.

While located in a 3,000 sq.ft. studio in Lexington, Kentucky, he’s been hired to shoot beyond Kentucky’s borders: from Washington, D.C. to Sidney, Australia…Seattle, Washington to London, England…
New Orleans, Austin, San Jose & Los Angeles…
Chicago & New York…
and Lewellen, Nebraska, population 250.

Jenni Presley joined Lee in 2002 after graduating with a degree in print journalism with a specialization in photography from the University of Kentucky. She’s a great contributor but of utmost importance, she processes nearly all of Lee’s images. She knows how he likes them, and she’s extremely good at it.

When asked if she wanted to shoot for the studio, she politely declined saying, “I know how ‘exacting’ your clients are.”
